Position Title Hospital Operations Manager
Department Operations
Immediate Supervisor Hospital Director
ROLE SUMMARY
You will be in charge of providing inspired leadership for the operation of the organization in line with business strategy, which involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financials/ Financing
1. Ensure that there is an increase in allocational efficiency
2. Ensure increase in Service coverage.
3. Ensure there is revenue growth through Operational structure that meet with patient outcomes and corporate targets.
4. Manage resources cost effectively within the agreed financial budgets, taking corrective action when necessary.
Healthcare Service Delivery (Quality Aspect)
1. Ensure that all Operations processes are institutionalization
2. Ensure that there is a steady organizational Customer retention.
3. Ensure that administrative and communication systems are fit for purpose and utilized effectively.
4. To always ensure there is an improved customer satisfaction across the organization
5. Aim on improved Service/product consumption rate.
6. Environment satisfaction index.
Health Workforce
1. Monitor and evaluate employee productivity.
2. Ensure appraisals are done and rewarded.
3. Ensure that there is skill mix across all the department.
Information Management
1. Coordinate automation of operation processes.
2. Fast track process automation to reduce cost.
3. Monitor and evaluate data integration across the departments.
4. Ensure functionality of ICT devises in operations department.
5. Ensure reliability of operations data for use by hospital staff.
6. Ensure operational excellence achieved through utilization of organization ICT solutions.
7. Ensure ICT based new products and service lines for the patient are operationalized/utilized.
Leadership and Governance- Compliance
1. Ensure outstanding issues post audit are settled.
2. Monitor and evaluate compliance to organization processes.
3. Ensure compliance to governing bodies.
4. Lead the operations team in Monthly departmental meetings.
Supply and Technology
1. Ensure accessibility to essential medical supplies.
2. Oversee proper and adequate budget utilization.
3. Maintain Inventory accuracy.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
• A degree in health systems management.
• Diploma in Healthcare management or health systems management.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years’ of relevant experience with a senior position in a Hospital setup.
• Evidence of relevant budget and financial management experience.
• Evidence of working in an environment where one has supervised more than 20 staff.
• Prior experience in healthcare policy development, dissemination and implementation.
