JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title Physiotherapist
Department Clinical
Immediate supervisor Hospital Operations Manager/ Hospital Director
ROLE SUMMARY
The Physiotherapist will provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical challenges arising from illness, injuries, disability or old age to improve mobility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Healthcare Service Delivery
1. Assess patients and manage patients requiring physiotherapy.
2. Provide rehabilitative service through appropriate physiotherapy programmes.
3. Promote and provide knowledge on the use of supportive devices and technology.
4. Assist to categorize persons with disability and impairment.
5. Provide education and health promotion to patients with all kinds of physical injuries.
6. Assess treatment outcomes for review referrals or discharge.
Information Management
1. Adhere to use of Hospital management information system in all operations transactions.
2. Avail accurate raw data as required.
3. Timely delivery of processed data/ information to the user.
4. Comply with operational processes in the Hospital Management Information system.
5. Comply to automated inventory requisition process.
6. Ensuring completeness and accuracy of transaction data.
7. Ensure use of electronic communication channels in all stations.
8. Accurately track all inventories.
9. Prepare and avail departmental and individual reports as requested.
Supply and Technology
1. Maintain an up to date database for physiotherapy services for input into the HMIS
2. Bill all commodities appropriately.
Leadership and Governance
1. Timely renewal of individual license.
2. Adhere to hospital policy and processes.
3. Participate in quality improvement projects.
4. Participate in departmental and online meetings – zoom, Google meet, video conferences.
Financial
1. Optimize the allocated budget.
Healthcare Workforce
1. Attend all training as required by the governing bodies and the organization.
2. Timely submission of individual evaluation reports.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
Education:
● Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
● Registered with the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya(PCK)
● Member of the Kenya Society of Physiotherapy(KSP)
● Valid practicing license from the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya(PCK)
● Computer literacy
Experience:
● Minimum work experience of 1 year.
